Which inverter brands does Helios support?
Helios is fully verified with Huawei FusionSolar and SolarEdge. Integrations are also built for Sungrow, Fronius, Azzurro, SMA, GoodWe, Growatt and SolaX — these are real integrations that are validated against your equipment when your first system of that brand connects.
How often does the data update?
Inverter cloud APIs are polled every five minutes, which is what vendor rate limits reasonably allow. On sites fitted with an optional Helios edge gateway, readings are pushed every 30 to 120 seconds instead.
Do I need to install extra hardware?
No. Helios works through the inverter manufacturer's cloud API with no hardware on site. An optional Helios edge gateway gives faster data and enables control, and the Helios Edge EMS is a separate product for autonomous battery control.
Can I control inverters and batteries from Helios?
It depends on how the site is connected. Cloud-API-only sites are monitoring only, by design. Sites with a Helios smart edge gateway support real control including power limiting, on/off, restart and battery mode, schedule, minimum state-of-charge and forced charge or discharge — Huawei is the field-validated brand and rollout is brand-by-brand. On Edge EMS sites the controller owns control and the cloud cannot send it a setpoint.
The two products
What is the difference between Helios Platform and Helios Edge EMS?
The Platform is cloud software for installers: monitoring, savings reporting and a CRM covering leads, proposals and service. The Edge EMS is a physical controller installed at a solar-plus-battery site that runs that site autonomously without needing the cloud. They work together but they are separate products.
What battery and PV hardware does the Edge EMS support?
CNTE PCS and BMS equipment, and the Huawei SmartLogger. Further PV-system and battery integrations are implemented per project for hardware that supports it. We do not claim it works with any battery.
Can the cloud send a setpoint to an Edge EMS controller?
No, and not merely as a policy. No setpoint command type exists in the protocol. The only cloud-to-controller channel is a bounded set of configuration scopes and four actions, HMAC-signed with replay protection.
Savings and diagnostics
How are savings calculated?
Against a database-driven Cyprus tariff engine using EAC components, fuel adjustment and wholesale export rates, rather than a flat assumed rate. Where a site reports production only, self-consumption must be estimated and those figures are marked as estimated. Where there is no usable import price, no monetary figure is shown at all. What problems can Helios detect automatically?
Six detectors run every fifteen minutes. Three work from day one: grid voltage sustained outside the 207 to 253 volt band, the same inverter fault code recurring, and one MPPT string under-producing against its siblings. Three compare a system against its own history and need roughly 7 days to 12 weeks before they are useful: inverter efficiency against a 30-day baseline, battery charging behaviour against a 12-week baseline, and monitoring-device signal deterioration.
Detection depth depends on what each brand's telemetry exposes, and the battery detector is an early-warning trend indicator rather than a state-of-health test.
How do alerts reach me?
By email and in the app. There is no SMS and no mobile push today.
Language, apps and access
Is Helios available in Greek?
Yes, fully. 7,915 translation keys at 100% coverage in both English and Greek, including server-generated output such as alerts and reports, not just the interface.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. Native mobile apps are in development. The web application is responsive and tested at mobile viewport sizes, so it works on a phone today.
Data, security and commercial
Is my data separated from other installers?
Yes. Helios is multi-tenant with per-request tenant isolation, so data belonging to one organisation cannot be reached from another organisation's session. Two-factor authentication is available and can be enforced for administrators.
How long is my data kept, and can I export it?
Raw readings are retained for five years under a GDPR-audited retention policy, then removed automatically. Self-service raw-data export is built in and delivered as a signed link, under GDPR data-portability rights.
Is there a public API?
No. There is no public developer API today and it is not sold as part of any plan. If one ships it will be announced separately.
